OBITUARIES OF CARRIE ELIZABETH STAMPS HARDY
Wife of Rev. Samuel Hinds Hardy
MRS. S. H. HARDY CALLED...
Within a few hours last week after the Signal had been mailed Mrs. S. H. Hardy died in the hospital in St. Louis, where her husband had taken her several days before for an operation.
It was thought for several days after, that the operation was a success and that the lady would recover, but fever set in, and death came to her relief Thursday morning, June 21st, at 12:15.
The body was taken to Neosho, Mo., where she was raised and where some of her relatives still reside.
Rev. Hardy, accompanied by his mother and his children, will arrive here this week, where they will continue to reside, and where he is pastor of the Baptist Church.
Carrie Hardy died June 21, 1923.

DEATH CLAIMS WIFE OF CHAFFEE PASTOR...
Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Sam Hardy, wife of Rev. Hardy, Baptist minister of Chaffee, who died in St. Louis Wednesday night following an operation at the Baptist Sanitarium.
The remains are expected to arrive in Chaffee tonight and the funeral will probably be held Friday, although final arrangements have not been made.
The deceased has many friends both in Chaffee and Cape Girardeau and in other towns of this section. She was highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was a prominent worker in her husband's church and a devoted mother to her five children. The children: Juanita, 15; Leon, 13; Frances, 11; Howard Porter, 8; and Herman Lee, 2.
The Hardy family have lived in Chaffee for the past four years.
