1633 in England, and died 1693 in Virginia.
He married *MARY JACKSON 1663 in Isle of Wight Co, VA. She was born 1640, and died Bef. 1693.
Notes for GEORGE G. HARDY, "CAPT.":
Captain George Hardy came
from England before his parents about 1650. He was the owner of the Old Hardy
Mill in Isle of Wight County, which is still standing. He owned large estates
in both Isle of Wight and Surry Counties and had an interest in several
vessels. He was a liberal supporter of the Established Church. He made his will
5 March 1693, and the same was probated in 1694. In his will he named his
daughters Margaret and Sarah, and his grandchildren, Richard and George
Jarrett. (children of his daughter Mary.

Mary Jackson (Elizabeth,
Alice Pierce) to whom, with her sister Sarah, their grandmother deeded 150
acres of land in Isle of Wight county, 1647, married Captain George Hardy, who
in 1648 had patented land across the creek from Alice Bennett. George Hardy,
who made a deposition 9 April 1670 stating that he was 37 years of age, named
in his will, 5 March 1693/94 - 9 June 1696, Isle of Wight two sons, two
daughters and grandchildren.

In the Name of God Amen.
I Richard
Hardy being week of Body but in Perfect mind and
memory do make and ordain this my Last Will and
Testament in Manner and form following. To wit
Item. I Give and Bequeath to my Son Richard Hardy
my Negro Boys Ben and Dumbartin and my Negro
Girls Bridget and
Linda. My horse called Bounes(?)
and all my
Troopen(?) Furniture to him and
his Heirs forever.
Item. I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah
Hardy
my Negro Wench called Kate, my Negro Boy Sam, my
Negro Girls Mela, Celah, Fanny and Easter to her and
her Heirs forever.
Also my Will and Desire is
that my said Daughter should have and Injoy my
old Brick House Plantation according to the bounds
I Gave in a Lease to W. Clay Brantley to her and
her Heirs during her Natural Life.

Notes for THOMAS "HARDIE" HARDY:
Thomas Hardy inherited the
famous Hardy Mill. He had large estates in Isle of Wight and Surry Counties. He
had large estates in Isle of Wight and Surry Counties. He took a prominent and
active interest in religious and public affairs. Thomas made his will 7 Jan.
1711, in which he named his daughter Sarah and his sons George, Thomas and
Richard. He willed his seal to George.
